Okay, so some of you may already know, but there is a new book out. A new Heroes book. Not graphic novel, book. It is called Saving Charlie. It is about Hiro and Charlie.

No, I'm probably not going to read it. That's what fanfic is for.

Sure, there are plenty of tv shows with books about them. Hell, the Doctor Who novels are pretty much considered canon. Same goes for some of the Star Trek novels out there (especially now that JJ Abrams wants to include references from the novels in his movie). The Star Wars novels are canon. I don't have a problem with books about shows, but the subject matter could have been better. Also, the timing.

Everyone knows about Harry Potter fanfic. Whenever you mention fanfic to someone who doesn't write/read fanfic, they immediately think of Harry Potter. Why? Because there's a TON of it. It's infamous. So why is there so much Harry Potter fanfic? Because fans were anxiously waiting YEARS for the books to come out.

Why is there Heroes fanfic? Same reason. (Especially during season one, when WEEKS would go by with no new episodes.) Hiro/Charlie fic? There's plenty of it, most of it written back when the episodes about Charlie first aired.

A lot of books have been published lately as sequels or prequels to Peter Pan. (I have a point, I swear, just bear with me.) Peter Pan has been around for a while. You can't exactly throw a rock and hit some Peter Pan fic, like you can Harry Potter. However, 100 years from now, maybe there will be some books published as sequels or prequels to Harry Potter. I know Rowling doesn't want that, and I would hope people would respect her wishes (especially since she's pretty good-natured about fanfic), but we can't predict or control the future. It might just happen. It's just not going to happen right now.

You could probably throw a rock and hit some Heroes fanfic, because while there isn't as much of it as there is HP fic, there's still a ton. (And Heroes aiten't dead yet.)

Which brings me to my point:
Why is this chick getting paid to write fanfic, when the writers of the show itself can't even get paid what they want?!

I am hysterically angry about this.

Peter Petrelli vs. Claude Raines/Christopher Eccleston

Also, I am mad that there is another Heroes macro community out there. WHY DIDN'T I KNOW?!

Also, I just went to type Heroes and types herpes instead. >_>

This totally makes me happy.

I'm glad someone is listening to us.

Robin Hood/Heroes crossover fanfic. This will probably only make sense if you've seen episode 2x08 of Robin Hood, "Get Carter!"

Spoilers for tonight's Heroes. )

Also, I went to see The Dark is Rising with Deana today, and I don't need to cut for spoilers because all you really need to know is that the movie doesn't follow the book much at all, and Christopher Eccleston is MAGNIFICENT.

Alas! I forgot to tell you guys about the weird Heroes dream I had last night. )

So, a few notes on tonight's Heroes, but first, my opinion on the new episode of Atlantis:

That was the SHITTIEST episode of Atlantis I have ever seen. I mean, "Sunday" made me angry, but at least it was a GOOD episode! "Travelers" was the most poorly written piece of crap the show has ever seen, and had more plot holes in it than I can count.

Having said that, onto Heroes thoughts. )

Now check out these FAAAABULOUS shirt designs!

Okay, so my "drabble" for Ced turned out not to be a drabble, and is now too long to post in a comment. Prompt was "dreaming."

Fic for Ced under cut, Heroes: Mohinder-Matt-Molly. )

Heroes fic rec: 20 Things Learned on Road Trips.

(This is especially funny, because I'm always hollering "ROAD TRIP!" inappropriately to my mother when we watch Heroes.)
